The Friendship Clubs and Drop-In Center are among our best-known programs. They provide places where people with mental illness can enjoy the company of others, and learn important psychosocial skills to enhance their overall quality of life and promote recovery.
Friendship Clubs
Our Friendship Clubs, located in uptown New Orleans and on the West Bank in Harvey offer psychosocial rehabilitation programs that include medication management, employment opportunities, independent living skills development and socialization, all within a supportive environment. We emphasize dignity and choice for people with mental illness by promoting self-esteem and life within the community.
Individuals actively receiving services from local community mental health clinics in Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and Jefferson Parishes may be eligible for participation at the Friendship Clubs.
Drop-in Center
Our Drop-In Center on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish, offers a full range of recreational and social activities for people with mental illness, again enhancing social skills and self-esteem.
